Vocal-speaking training of an actor: from the breathing to the sound and the word

The workshop is conducted by coach at the scenic speech department of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts (the RGISI) Oleg Veledinskiy.
The second year students of the dramatic theatre and cinema artists’ workshop of honorary artist of the Karelia Republic, professor A.D. Andreev are to take part.
The program of the workshop is comprised of the system of exercises for the formation of phonation breathing and emergence of the sound’s breathing buttress on the basis of yoga breathing system. Special attention is devoted to the transition from the breathing to the sound and the word, the development and enrichment of the timbre, disclosure of the range, power and volume of the speech voice’s sound. In the training individual and group exercises with a ball are used.
Oleg Veledinskiy – an actor of theatre and cinema, master of theatre art. In 2001 he graduated from the Saint Petersburg state academy of theatre art, the course of professor Y.I. Krasovskiy (scenic speech teacher – professor Y.A. Vasiliev). In 2003 he became a master of Theatre art summa cum laude at the same academy. The curator of the “Scenic speech” specialization – professor V.N. Galendeev. Since 2010 – a teacher at the scenic speech department of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts (the RGISI), a follower of the authorized method of phonation breathing and voice training on the basis of the professor E.I. Chyornaya’s scenic practice of the classical oriental theatre.
